I am afraid that none of these unconvicted felons will ever see the inside of a courtroom, let alone the inside of a jail. The current Justice Department, no doubt operating under orders, done not appear to have the stones to deal with these monstrous people who came so close to ruining our country.
No one will be prosecuted for torture, except maybe those who went beyond the phony legal justification provided by Yoo and Addington, et al, Every one else is allowed the hollow excuse that they were following lawful orders. Does anyone know how many Nazis who argued during their war crimes trials "I was just following orders" were imprisoned or executed anyway. I don't know these numbers, but I do know this was rejected as a legal excuse for their crimes. I do know that lawyers and judges who facilitated these orders were imprisoned or executed. The big shots who gave the orders all were executed or committed suicide. Remember Magda and Josef Goebbels, true believers to the end, killing all six of their small children before they killed themselves.
No one will be prosecuted for the administrations tampering with the Justice Department by firing nine US Attorneys who were dilatory in prosecuting spurious, trumped up crimes allegedly committed by Democrats whom the administration wished to discredit before election time. They will come up with some lame excuse for letting this one go by.
No one will be prosecuted for spying on innocent American citizens through wiretapping and monitoring of emails by the NSA. in clear violation of the laws in effect at the time.
There is so much more, but I will stop here. The most corrupt, felonious, and worst administration in US history will be given a complete pass, and aside from a few slightly besmirched reputations, none of the vermin which comprised this administration will suffer anything. I'm afraid that perhaps twenty or thirty years from now, another group of lawless, immoral, and corrupt thugs will take control of the government, and will remember the lessons of history -- that they can do anything, endure the rare squeaks of protest from their opponents, be left alone by a compliant and complicit media, and know that they will go completely unpunished at the end of their administration.
Is this really the legacy that President Obama wants for himself. It is not the legacy I want for America. We are better than that; at least I hope we are.
