Fox Nation pissed at Mickey Death's website for scary black folks
Fox Nation Thread About McDonald’s Black Website Generates More Racism And Ignorance
Reported by Priscilla - August 20, 2009 - 5 comments

Fox Nation knows exactly what they’re doing and that is stoking the fires of racist division in this country. The notion of “one nation indivisible,” part of the pledge that Teabaggers and Town Hallers love, is not Fox Nation which is clearly a place that is white and Christian. But the irony is that they complain about how African Americans and Hispanics don’t want to be a part of the greater white society – a sentiment found in the Fox Nation comments about a black website that McDonald’s has started, “McDonald’s 365black.”

In the bizarro world of Fox Nation, it’s whites who are being oppressed and segregated by the forces of ungrateful and lazy blacks who now have access to their own McDonald’s website. It’s time for a new march on Washington for the poor, disenfranchised whites of Fox Nation who are demanding integration, civil rights, and an end to special internet privileges for blacks only. They have a dream!!!!

White, “Right” America is feeling wronged (again) and nothing bothers them more than recognition of black culture. For them, any recognition of heritage and ethnicity is foreign and suspiciously seditious. There is an irony in that these are the same type of folks who supported segregation in the school, neighborhoods, and in marriage; yet, they are unwilling or too stupid to acknowledge that the history and experience of the African American society is unique.

The celebration of African American culture is no different from the celebration of any ethnic heritage such as the various Italian American and Irish Americans groups (to name only two) who organize around a common heritage. Minorities, as do the other groups, network through these groups which often provide assistance and affirmation of those within the groups who have achieved success in the face of difficult and discriminatory circumstances. So McDonald’s had the audacity to set up a website and the whites of Fox Nation are outraged at this “discrimination.” Blacks are getting something that they don’t have and they are pissed.

Some are never going back to McDonalds (which is probably a pretty good idea if the Town Hall crowds are any indication of body mass of your average white conservative). This is the mission statement for this website:

The rest

1. & it won't surprise me if none of the Foxy-woxes catch the slightly sinister part.

I mean, the part that really is a bit sinister--not the white victimhood bollocks. Mickey D's does quite a lot of black- and Latino-centric advertising, which serves to prop it up in minority communities, and seems like overcompensation for the (accurate) perception that fast-food joints that serve extremely unhealthy food are especially abundant in lower-income, disproportionately minority, communities. Of course, McDonald's incessant touting of lousy ill-compensated service-industry work as something wonderful is obnoxious, too.

2. This is exactly what I was thinking.

The whole "we care about you and your community" thing - while pushing extremely unhealthy food on them, is hypocritical as hell. This is bad, but not for the reasons the Fox Nation folks think.

In fact, McDonalds may even appreciate this kind of right-wing racist reaction against it. It gives them an opportunity to be heroes in the fight against racism, which of course is great PR. It also gives them the opportunity to paint all critics of the site as racists.

However, at the end of the day none of this may really matter. I'm pretty sure that most African Americans will see the website for the cynical PR that it is.

11. I was thinking the same thing about their food
But like all villains, Mickey Deaths is complicated. They've changed their menu so that it's not impossible to find a healthy meal in that place.

If you go to one in Europe, and I've been to a few, you'll find the food there pretty palatable.

And I think that they're sincere with the community outreach. They know that they have a bad rep when it comes to the fast food biz.

But unlike us, who can see the big picture, those racist Fox News loving bastards couldn't see their fat asses even if they were duct taped to their faces.

3. Found this while Googling on this topic (more insanity from the right)
It’s just as well that Nixon put a stop to black representation at the university level, since blacks have one of the lowest college and university entry rates in America. That’s certainly not Nixon’s fault. It is black peoples’ fault for continuing to support Democrats like Nixon, however. It’s pretty clear that Democrats care more about the teacher’s union, than they do about educating blacks!

For the few lucky blacks who do manage to dodge the Democrat gauntlet of underachievement established for blacks and who manage to enter higher education in Missouri, it is refreshing to know that there will be nobody to represent them. Nobody to represent what unfortunately are the unique problems for blacks in education, like chronic underachievement.

What’s the big deal anyway? White Democrats have proven that they know more about “the black condition” than blacks. They must, since they get 95% of the black vote, the reward being for black achievement. Blacks lead, per capita, the highest high school dropout rates, lowest high school graduation rates, lowest college entrance rates, and lowest college graduation rates. Democrats in Missouri have done such a great job in the St. Louis school system that it ranks right up there with San Quentin, Ralway, and Pelican Bay–some of America’s best penitentiaries.

Jay Nixon is demonstrating what white Democrat politicians have showcased for years: Total disdain for blacks. Nixon happily accepts the black vote during election time—knowing that vote is a given—then completely disregard blacks after the polls close. Read more…
