Wow...on a Democratic board, advocating for the ouster of Obama in '12 is acceptable...

Sticky notes saying "Kucinich in 2012".....

....implies the donater is advocating the defeat of Obama.

Thanks for the donation, fellas. But you DO realize that your donation is going to a site that advocates FOR Obama?

3. Advocating against the sitting DEMOCRATIC President is a violation of DU rules...
....or at least it used to be.

8. Is there a mention in the rules about advocating against a sitting President?
I wasn't aware of that. I thought it was more about just supporting Democrats.

(for the record, I see absolutely no reason not to fully support Obama for a second term at this time.)

10. The rule being changed in the last few months?
As DU wasn't around the last time there was a sitting Democrat(ic) President, the rule, if there was one, would have to have been changed since Obama won the election.

15. Primaries are FAIR GAME
It has never been against DU rules to advocate for your candidate in Democratic primaries.

19. I don't believe this to be true.
Seeing as how this site has only recently seen it's first sitting Democratic president.

4. DU advocates for "democrats," not "incumbant democrats"
and Kucinich is a democrat. I'm not seeing the problem, just as I didn't see the problem when people advocated for Lamont in the primary against Joe Lieberman.

7. Wrong! It's a democratic website. Kucinich is a Democrat.
I suppose if you were for Obama in the primary you would have wanted DU to kick out all the pro Clinton members ...right? DOH!

9. While likely, it is not dead certian that Obama will be the nominee.
IMO, that is something that must be earned. So, I think he's looking good so far, even if he initially stumbled on this health care thing.

13. I've decided that I will be accepting of these people.
Kucinich is a democrat and if the poster isn't a fan of Obama, then them's the breaks.

Do I agree with this person, no.

Do I believe they have a right to have that opinion, yes.

17. Neither Kucinich or Obama have declared they will run in 2012
It's a safe bet that Obama will run for re-election but as far as I know, he hasn't officially declared his candidacy so professing support for another Dem to run wouldn't be against DU rules I imagine.

This argument is kinda like the debate about those people having guns at Obama's appearances. One can argue that the gun toters aren't breaking any laws and are exercising their rights but others argue that their motive is to disrupt and to intimidate and the law ought to be changed.

my thread of a day or two ago wishing DK would get on board or STFU.

Up to 15, down to 7, etc....

Mebbe there are some Ron Pauler's teamin' up with Kucinichers.

FWIW, I like Kucinich, love him even, but he's also an ass at times.

But I just want to go off on liberals who are so ready to toss President Obama aside after only 8 fucking months. I have no patience for such blatant nonsense.

23. I'm not a Kucinich fan, but I don't see anything wrong with that particular sticky.
Kucinich still has the same ice-cubes-chance-in-hell he's always had, but he is most certainly a Democrat, and this is Democratic Underground. An "Obama lied" or "Obama/Biden = GOP" would be unacceptable, but a sticky favoring a Dem is a different thing.
