Full page ad in my local newspaper blames Democrats and their "socialism" for bad economy
The ad was placed by a group called the U.S. Citizens Association, and according to these wackos the entire economic downturn can be placed completely at the feet of Democrats and most especially Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Franklin Raines, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and Obama. Anyone else see this ad or know anything about this group? Link to complete ad below:

http://www.uscitizensassociation.com/pdfs/ad_1.pdf

The headline was:

Barack Obama and the Democrats
did not inherit the bad economy;
they caused it and made it worse

They now want to bankrupt the nation with socialized
medicine and socialism energy taxes
This will greatly increase your income taxes, property taxes,
utility bills and you will be denied medical care

Edited on Tue Aug-25-09 08:46 AM by davidwashley
Reason this person (Una Lauricia) is listed as contact for US CITIZENS ASSOCIATION (formerly BGA) is most probably because she was hired to represent them when they were sued by BGA, Inc. for trademark infringement. Note the following (particularly next to last attorney):

10. Looks like yet ANOTHER fake grassroots organization
According to the Huffington Post this group originally called themselves the Better Government Association. Another group with the same name sued them and they then changes their name to the U.S. Citizen's Association. It's unclear who the powers are behind this "grassroots" group but Ed Rollins name came up. See excerpt below:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/08/06/national-anti-obama-group_n_251011.html

When reached by phone Tuesday, board member Rev. Herschel Gammill of Cathedral of Life Ministries in Canton declined to comment and instead referred questions to Ed Rollins, the Republican strategist who was Mike Huckabee's national campaign chairman in 2008 presidential election. Rollins, Gamill said, is chairman of the new BGA's board.

A secretary for Rollins' Washington-based New Strategies group told the Huffington Post Rollins was recovering from surgery and unavailable to comment. She could not confirm whether he was affiliated with the new BGA.

Calls to the new BGA's executive director Lance Davis were not returned

13. Thanks. They seem pretty well-funded for such a new group.
Looks like Ed Rollins, a big-time Republican strategist is involved. He was Reagan's National Campaign Director in '84 and Mike Huckabee's campaign chairman. I wonder where they are getting their money?

funding behind this.

Since Una is a partner, I'd look closely at that law firm for additional funding.

19. The bad economy is also due to lack of incentives for working Americans combined with an obscenely
high cost of living.

With all the bullshit arguing on DU over that issue and its various facets, I'd be better off writing and selling a pop-culture book about Michael Jackson's frozen sperm...

21. You've gotta love how they can say that Obama can't blame Bush for this mess
he's seven months into it and hasn't fixed it (or something), but yet they can blame Clinton and Carter. Um... what? Why not examine the many economic problems that Reagan and the Bushes created if you're going to go as far back as Carter?

Holy shit. I don't mind disagreeing on things, but can the right please work on trying to find someone who is NOT full of shit to support and discuss their policies? Please? It's all I ask.

26. yes, tha tmarket crash in October of 2008
and the year of recession leading up to it (as noted by conservative economist), the deregulation of the housing, banking, insurance and mortgage industries, moving the oversight of the banks to federal from state (from the party of "less government"), NONE of that had any effect on the economy.

It's Magically all Obama's!!!!

read what conservative economist thinks of Puke's economic impact on this country (it's a fun read and great for arguing with family/friends of the crazy persuasion):
