Barney Frank's Nazi questioner is literally a cult member (and FOX approves)
Edited on Fri Aug-21-09 02:46 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
Her name is Rachel Brown, and she's part of the Larouche Youth Movement (LYM), who I remember from my college sociology textbook. Cult researchers tend to include them in their field of study.
----
Here's some background:

Political group accused of cult-like practices; LaRouche Youth Movement said to brainwash, manipulate

Gloria Stamat
Contributing Writer

Members of the LaRouche Youth Movement (LYM) whisked Ed Capps and his friend, Katrina Fenton, away to their headquarters in Redford near the end of winter semester 2006. They were returned only after a six-hour indoctrination to get them to drop out of school and join their cause.
Brainchild of political activist Lyndon LaRouche, the LYM is a cultural movement that embraces Marxism and a reemergence of the classics. Though accused of being cultish in nature, the LYM has thousands of followers around the world.

They're even operational overseas, where scotland yard has classified them as 'a political cult."

Metropolitan Police submitted evidence to the inquest that the LaRoche Youth Movement was “a political cult with sinister and dangerous connections”.
<...>
“They use a variety of techniques,” he said. “They try to persuade them to be part of their family, they love-bond them and give them work to do and build up that work until you are doing nothing else.

“It turns into a 24-hour operation – they are sucked in and they are totally in the group.”

But he explained that Mr Duggan could have reacted to the pressure he was put under or become frightened by the some of the more extreme ideas he was being introduced to.

Of course, the crew at "FOX and Friends" thinks this is all perfectly normal:

"Doocy says Frank's response shows that "aybe ... he's spent a little too much time in Washington, D.C., away from real people. In a later segment, Doocy again did not note the content of the Obama-Hitler protester's question and again falsely claimed Frank's response was to two different people instead of the single Obama-Hitler protester:"

So now the FOX liars are covering for the LaRouchites. There's no low they won't sink to.

2. I thought LaRouche was a lefty. Why are they against national health care?
Ain't that the guy who has some sort of solidarity movement going on in Europe? From what I heard they have an apocalyptic view of the market, but why would they oppose a government program?

22. LaRouche spins on a political axis
where being so far left eventually becomes the far right. Or you can say he and his minions "exist on another planet" as Frank put it so well.

being approached by one of his cultists like twenty five years ago in Philadelphia.

The only particular that stuck in my mind about his "beliefs" was that, at the time, he was accusing Queen Elizabeth of running a drug ring..Uh Huh.:eyes:, an accusation that rendered me invulnerable to whatever else his crazy ass might say.

17. Ah The LaRouchies Are At It Again...
They've been flying under the radar for a while. It's hard to explain what these people stand for...other than to create havoc wherever they can.

Many of us here in Illinois still remember when the LaRouchies played games to win the Democratic nomination for Governor back in the 80's. I hadn't seen them for years until '06 or so...one day I saw a group taking signatures to "Impeach Cheney"...I went to investigate, chatted with several of those trying to get signatures and saw who and what this was. I stopped cold in my tracks signing their petition (glad I did) and went on my merry way.

These people are out to agitate..."libertarians on crack" would be a decent definition and a blight on any party or political movement that latches on to them. It's just a matter of time that the LaRouchies will get into the local parties and really create a mess. The GOOPers in their desperation for allies have gone into the netherworld...

27. Not out of control, as such...
We're spinning through some changes, to be sure, and that is going to be painful for those that are against it. They are the ones making the most noise, because they aren't getting their way all the time, anymore.

This is like a political centrifuge, with the waste matter and the dross being flung away from the useful material and discarded.

They are the leftovers. The rest of us are moving on.

28. Of course, I hope you're right
But bellicose ignorance was mainstreamed long ago and runs deeper than just the mouthy idjits we're seeing now. Their faction is still larger than should be possible in a sane country and the corporate, political, arch-religious interests who stoke their perpetual anger are intact. I don't think we'll be rid of them or their wreckage anytime soon. But again, I'd be glad, GLAD, to be wrong about this.

29. The LaRouchies are kind of like Scientologists, only more political

http://www.publiceye.org/larouche/synthesis.html

Though often dismissed as a bizarre political cult, the LaRouche organization and its various front groups are a fascist movement whose pronouncements echo elements of Nazi ideology. Beginning in the 1970s, the LaRouchites combined populist antielitism with attacks on leftists, environmentalists, feminists, gay men and lesbians, and organized labor. They advocated a dictatorship in which a "humanist" elite would rule on behalf of industrial capitalists. They developed an idiosyncratic, coded variation on the Illuminati Freemason and Jewish banker conspiracy theories. Their views, though exotic, were internally consistent and rooted in right-wing populist traditions.

A former Trotskyist, Lyndon H. LaRouche , Jr., founded the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC) in 1968 as an offshoot of the radical student movement. But in the early 1970s, LaRouche engineered a political about-face, using cult pressure tactics to consolidate his grip over the NCLC and initiating a campaign of physical attacks on Communists and Black nationalists, which cut his followers off from the Left. The result was a fascist organization with some unique strengths: a dedicated, full-time cadre of several hundred members, a high proportion of intellectuals with advanced training, familiarity with leftist theory and organizing, and inside information about radical organizations and leaders. . . .

In 1976 LaRouche’s original electoral arm, the U.S. Labor Party (USLP), published a conspiracist attack on President Jimmy Carter, claiming he was a tool of secret international elites. The Liberty Lobby criticized the report for failing to mention the role of Jewish bankers, and soon LaRouche publications picked up the theme. The Liberty Lobby and the LaRouche group soon began to cooperate closely on projects. . . .

The LaRouchites borrowed conspiracist elements from various sources to produce their own Manichean picture of world history. For thousands of years, they argued, the good "humanists" had been locked in a power struggle with a vast conspiracy of evil "oligarchs." In ancient times, the oligarchic conspiracy was centered in Babylon; later it shifted to Venice; in modern times it was centered in Britain’s royal House of Windsor. This narrative evoked standard elements of antisemitic doctrine: that Jews had dominated ancient Babylon and that Jewish banking families controlled the British government.

On edit: Extra bonus feature -- Lyndon LaRouche ranting, in all seriousness, about the Satanist threat to Western Civilization.
