What about uninsured children? Or is there such a thing? I thought the GOP was pro-life.

In GA (as I'm sure in other states) there is a program for healthcare for children of low or no income families.

In all the arguments I've heard, there is no distinction between un(der)-insured adults and children.

Don't laugh...I'm serious (series) about this.

The GOP is anti-abortion, anti-womens rights, anti-minoirity rights, anti immigration rights.

They are however pro-war, pro-tax cuts for the rich, pro-weak labor laws, but no way in hell are they pro-life!!!

they do have family health plus also, but I don't know what the requirements are and if they differ in any way. I know that as far as child health plus goes, if our income put us at a $15/mo cost to us, we didn't have to have the kids uninsured for six months before we could put them on it. so that was good...i don't quite know how that works for the family health plus.

Once it hits the air and turns into a baby, it's a sinner and unworthy of their attention.

The only lives they want to protect are the perfect ones and those begin at conception and end at birth.

In general, you should apply for Medicaid if you have limited income and resources. You must match one of the descriptions below. Pregnant Women

Apply for Medicaid if you think you are pregnant. You may be eligible if you are married or single. If you are on Medicaid when your child is born, both you and your child will be covered.

Children and Teenagers

Apply for Medicaid if you are the parent or guardian of a child who is 18 years old or younger and your family's income is limited, or if your child is sick enough to need nursing home care, but could stay home with good quality care at home. Apply if you are aged, blind, or disabled; live in a nursing home; and have limited income and resources. Apply if you are aged, blind, or disabled and need nursing home care, but can stay at home with special community care services. Apply if you are eligible for Medicare and have limited income and resources.

Other Situations

Apply if you are leaving welfare and need health coverage. Apply if you are a family with children under age 18 and have limited income and resources. (You do not need to be receiving a welfare check.) Apply if you have very high medical bills, which you cannot pay (and you are pregnant, under age 18 or over age 65, blind, or disabled).
