1. 1,316,456 = Maine's population
She's one of TWO representing those people so theoretically she's "got" 658,228 people.. and she's speaking for , deciding life & death issues for 300 MILLION people?

I am sick and tired of the people from the LOWEST population centers, always being in deciding positions for what the rest of us have to live with..

10. Does this mean we can no longer count on the Repukes getting this passed for us? We're doomed.

15. The entire panel only represents states with 2.7% of the U.S. Population
They represent just over 1.4% of the population if pro-rated between the 2 senator for each state.

It is really disgusting how much more power the smaller states have. This is why insurance execs donate so heavily to them. But it is a fault of the Senate as a whole that they put the control in these 6 people's hands.

By contrast, Obama's state alone represents 4.2% of the population and Pelosi's state 12.1%.

I'm not sure this is what the founding fathers had in mine. The vast majority of the population being held hostage by these self-absorbed self-serving asshats.

2. Everybody knows that Finance wasn't going to produce a draft...
...with a public option in it -- if they produce anything at all. Finance is broken. At this point Baucus, and Conrad, are like chess players with a losing position who are going to let the flag drop on their clocks and lose on time, rather than get beat over the board.

The Senate GOP sent word out via Kyl that nothing Finance can offer is acceptable to their caucus -- no version, no compromise is enough to get GOP votes. And in the House, Pelosi's train is leaving the station already. They screwed the pooch, they know it, and this is the only semi-dignified exit.

HELP's version will be the Senate's lone contribution to conference, and whatever emerges, Snowe will vote for cloture, and against the bill. That's her usual straddle, and I don't think she'll change.

6. Except Hoyer is getting weak-kneed now. Same as it ever was.
I hope the progressive caucus sticks to their guns.

8. There are two Progressive Caucus members...
...give or take, for every Blue Dog. Nancy's got high hand and best cards showing. Hoyer's either playing bad cop, or he's a fool who never recovered from being beaten for Speaker by a chick.

3. I hope in the next elections the gang of six find themselves removed from
the table and put out to pasture. I hope whatever the final bill is that emerges for Obama's signature, that he sends it back until the "robust public option" is included. If he signs something that enriches the industry at the expense of the patients and the taxpayers like the Medicare prescription drug benefit, Part D, I'm afraid he will lose the support of his base. It's a pity. I so do want him to succeed.

11. What do we have to do to put primaries in their states?
Are their state Democratic parties really happy with them?

14. From what I've read, the Montanans aren't that happy with Baucus.
The problem here is that they could vote in a moderate sounding Republican. They need a true Democrat not a DINO to run against him. I wonder if David Sirota would consider doing it?

5. Who put it 'on the table'? I can't think of one person in that 'gang'
who has even considered it.

7. Why don't we ask Senator Snowe how much she received from the for-profit
healthcare industry last year.
