Just watched the ED show for the first time late last night/early this AM.
Um, *I* really like him...am I missing anything? He's quite strong-willed, but I feel we need that.
I don't usually watch a lot of 24-hr news channels except for Keith every now and again - it drives me batty.
Of course loved Rachel right before him.
Anything I should be informed about?

1. i wasn't so sure about ed schultz at first.... he SOUNDS like a republican
by voice... booming.... loud... but I actually like his show. I like that he doesn't mince words. If he thinks someone is lying he will say it... i hate when people say someone is 'inaccurate' or 'misinformed' or the other ones they use to avoid LYING!! if someone is lying then call them on it!!!

3. Ed is an issue-based liberal, like Rachel,
not personality based, meaning that he will criticize ANY politician who he sees as obstructing health care reform or other traditionally liberal issues. Sometimes he is critical of politicians who have devout followings on this board, so they don't like him (at least on those days) and insist that he is reverting to his conservative past.

I like him and I trust him far more than any other 'talking head' except Rachel.

5. i like his radio show better....
fridays he devotes a hour to small business owners to plug thewir business on the air."recession busting friday"

he controls the radio show and he does`t have full control on the tee-vee.

6. I watched Ed last night really for the first time. He was amazing! Go Ed.
Honestly, I ran hot and cold about Ed when he was on the radio, but I gotta give that man a lot of credit with what we saw last night.

K&R for Ed!

7. I've been impressed with him on TV
He's good, and he sexism pisses him off as much as anti-union bullshit, which is refreshing.

8. I've listened to Ed for 5 years
Ed is a perfect example of how Democratic Union members and
Democratic Midwesterner think. He's from N.D. so he
represents us very well. He's a die hard true blue democrat.
He speaks plainly, forcefully, and honestly. He's tough.
Rush is scared to death of him. Rush tried to bully a bunch
of his stations to drop Ed. Then, Rush was calling him a bunch
of names and running him down. So Ed offered to compete
against Rush in any forum he wants: debate, golf, running,
shooting, target practice, and a fight. He called Rush a
coward and basically a pussy on the air. It was hilarious.
Rush has never spoken about him since. Ed would kick his butt
in all those areas.

He's going after full support of public option and said he is
willing to get kicked of MSNBC for it.

11. Thanks for that - Ed knows who he's dealing with on the other side...
Bullies are chickenshits ~ I wish more Dems knew that all you have to do is ridicule them.

10. He is great.
Keith, Rachel, Ed, David Shuster and Tweety not necessarily in that order. I love them all. -- MSNBC has the best line-up. No question.

12. I wasn't much of an Ed fan at first.
When I had XM, I used to get a couple hours of his show. I found him a bit too conservative for me. I'm originally from Illinois, which is also in the Midwest, and am a liberal-progressive.

During the primary last year, when I caught Ed on the radio, he was closer to Clinton than Obama, but sometime during that campaign, he changed and got on Obama's bandwagon. And he's become more liberal since I first listened to him a couple years ago.

I do like Ed's MSNBC show and have watched it from the beginning. He's doing an great job standing up for the progressive position on health care.

13. My 'dream' MSNBC lineup would be this:
These are the times when the shows appear on the West Coast:

3:00pm Pacific - The Ed Show

4:00pm Pacific - Lawrence O'Donnell

5:00pm Pacific - Countdown w/ Keith Olbermann

6:00pm Pacific - The Rachel Maddow Show

4 hours daily of Progressive talk goodness. :D
