i'm disappointed with Obama
I voted for him, I think he's great, but objectively speaking:

1. He's allowed the bailed-out banks to just sit on the great amounts of money that they've received. It's creating the impression that the stimulus accomplished (or is accomplishing) nothing.

2. In pushing for comprehensive health care reform, he has overreached and allowed his message to become confused. He should have pushed for a simple and discreet public option and nothing else. It can be explained in three sentences; it is very easy to defend.

No hate. Just keeping it real.

5. I'm not sure I think he overreached
Rather I think his timidity has hurt, if not doomed, any chance for real improvement.

6. Your concern is duly noted.
The problem is, you see, that we like President Obama here. Perhaps you clicked the wrong entry in your favorites list.

15. no
I like him, too. I want to see him succeed.

But neither of those things preclude healthy criticism.

8. We clearly should have elected you. 213 days is more than enough to pass comprehensive health care.
I don't understand why he is so full of FAIL.

strikes you're out at the old ball game.

When wrote "objectively speaking", as you then proceeded to present nothing but opinions, what you meant was "in my opinion", right? There was nothing 'objective' at all there.

12. Um ... right.
1. The TARP and the stimulus are two different things, entirely.

2. I think Obama was way under-reached with his health care initiative.

Keep it real, indeed.

17. Hindsight... I'm guessing they ("they") looked at all the different approaches
and for whatever reasons, decided to go these routes.

I do agree that his health care message has become confused. I don't think he 'overreached', just that they knew what resistance they'd be met with and tried to cover all contingencies.

And I, for one, think your statements are objective, and I agree. But I'm not disappointed in HIM (as a matter of fact, he's far surpassed my expectations and continues to do so almost daily), but rather the state of the 'real' world in Washington.

:hi:

22. He did not overreach. IMO, he did not anticipate the GOP ability
to muddle messages. The Biggest Mistake made by Senate and Obama
was NOT HAVING a plan to sell. The Republicans could just make up
stuff and say it was in the bill. We still do not have a bill
but we have had 8 months of discussion of what is in the bill.

Right now this is his hurdle.

The American Public believes:
1. Their Premiums will go up
2. Medicare Benefits are being cut ( and they are).
3. With all the money being spent all those uninsured still will not
be covered
4. The Cost of the Program will be more and will hurt the Deficit.

It does not matter what I believe. Obama has to convince the American
People that all those things are wrong.

He cannot lie to the people because if HC passes and people wake
up with higher premiums, the Seniors find their Benefits cut,
and those uninsured find themselves in the same old place,
I do not want to be around.

He must get specific.
