David Shuster: "..Isn't it terrorism to threaten people with terrorism.."

Talking about Tom Ridge's book just now with Marty Meehan, one of Kerry's political advisors.

I do believe the man has a point.

It's threatening people with terrorism, just without the terrorists. It has the exact same effect though.

It's single-payer terrorism.

you could do something about it.

White people aren't terrorists, and Tom Ridge is white. Jeez. Oh, there's the "eco-terrorist" exception for if a white person burns an unoccupied SUV or pours sugar into the fuel tank of an industrial land clearing machine. But that's about it.

First off... remember how citizens were supposed to help against terrorism? (Answer at bottom of post)

Second, just look at the damn chart itself.

Blue is meaningless, because we would never get there under any conditions. If we got to blue we wouldn't need any warning system anymore. Green became meaningless through never having been used in 8 years.

Red is also meaningless; if there were a real situation, we most likely wouldn't see it until after the attack had happened, which means it fails as a warning. But if we saw it before an attack, there would be so many people who, on the one hand, would discount it as fearmongering, and on the other, who would call it evidence that the government itself was engineering attacks, that it would be ineffective.

Which leaves us with yellow and orange. Yellow means "be scared" and orange means "be very scared". Neither one actually means do a single thing different in day to day life. So the ONLY POSSIBLE PURPOSE OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM is to jack up fear levels in the population.








Answer: We were told it was our patriotic duty to CONSUME!
