Don't forget Bill Moyers tonight......."Critical Condition"
August 21, 2009

THE JOURNAL presents CRITICAL CONDITION, a documentary in which ordinary hard-working Americans tell their stories of battling critical illnesses without health insurance. They discover that being uninsured can cost them their jobs, health, homes, savings, and even their lives.

The country spends more than $2 trillion a year — over $6,000 per person — on health care, yet is the only major industrial nation without universal coverage. Between 45 and 47 million Americans live without health insurance, and 80 percent of them are from working families who either cannot afford insurance premiums or lose their insurance exactly when they need it most: when they fall ill and can no longer work. America ranks 24th in life expectancy, 28th in preventing infant mortality and 19th in halting preventable deaths.

1. I'm pissed off. I'm at work and we are running late so I probably won't
get home in time to see it. Fortunately, they do a repeat at noon on Sunday. It will be hard to wait that long.

2. The PBS station in Detroit doesn't show it UNTIL Sunday afternoon.....
......Either cheesy-ass doowop retrospectives or Yanni in concert dominate on Friday nights. :puke:

I'm bawling for these people. Joe was approved for Medicare two days before he died. Indeed what was the point.

15. I'm watching it now. And I am PISSED!!!
Every damned idiot in congress who is against any change in our health care system should be tied to a chair and MADE to watch this! If they still refuse to go in for change, then strip them of their health insurance and let them have to deal with illness all on their own.

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:
