resident's minds were very diverse.

Intelligence does not make one wise. As one ages the act of kindness stands out. Each generation seems a bit more rude,having even less patience then the generation before. Civilty can go a long way to make us whole,to allow us to mesh together. Intelligence does not. Many a wise person can have little education but abound in common sense. We could do with a bit more of that on Capitol Hill.
