Think about Rove and Co using Instant Messagers
Edited on Thu Apr-12-07 12:03 PM by wakeme2008
there are packages and companies that allow you to set up a private company IM systems. Think how that could be used by Rove and Co to get around email trails.

1. those can be tracked
I work for a company that sells a product that archives all of this stuff: email, IM, etc. in case a government agency needs to see it. The White House should have our system installed.

13. sorry off target but you gave me a new word. I don't really like using
bast-ard because how ever you spell it it is still a fatherless son. Bastages fits the bill perfectly, fatherless sons of lost worthless baggage or whatever, it works

17. It's federal law (at least in TX) that employers keep the last 6 months worth of communications
emails, IM's, everything. They even told us they don't read it, they just have to keep it all on file in case the feds want it.

This stuff still exists, you can never really "delete" email, it's got packets and backups strewn all over the internets.

3. most communication systems (all?)
keep logs of everything that happens. And most servers and such where such logs are stored are backed up frequently as a matter of standard protocol. The information is out there.

9. Would that only apply to what the sender retains?
If he sends an email which would be god awful embarrassing to their criminal enterprise, what happens to the messages after they have been received on numerous other servers? Can they be "retrieved?"

14. whether logged or not
those chats more than probably still live on a server somewhere.
And on every daily backup tape made of that data.

And on the CD-Roms of astute employees who took
the info home .... just in case

over the .gov e-mails in the Plame investigation. Might be time for Congress to re-open the investigation.
