We have a President that won an election against all odds
and with campaign strategists that were the best...Now with those same campaign strategists serving in his administration he cannot get any major legislation passed with a majority in both houses of Congress???There is something wrong here..We have Democrats arguing with Democrats..We have Democrats that are owned by the health care industry and we have a President that still believes Republicans will vote his way on legislation they began organizing against long before he won the nomination.. I think healthcare reform is dead in the water because this administration underestimated the powerful forces against us...

a Salon article by Bill Moyers written about a month ago but could have been written yesterday because not much has changed

3. Obama won in 2008 by running against the neo-con record
and now we have control of congress, but the corporations have ownership of congress. The "democrats" that have huge donations from unregulated corporations will fight against reform.
The DLC and Blue Dogs are basically liberal republicans

5. I agree with this.
Although I don't think all is lost on healthcare. It just looks bad right now because Obama thought the RW nutters might have some humanity inside. Turns out they are completely owned by the shadow government. There is still time to forge a path without them, although we have the blue dogs (another word for democrats under the influence of the shadow government) that we have to convert. If that doesn't work it may be time for a peasant uprising against the powers that be, french style.

No matter how good of a poker player you are, a bad hand is a bad hand.

We need some things to happen..

1. getting a real handle on lobbying (making it illegal)
....except for the true non-profits, it's BRIBERY

2. returning "news" to a not-for-profit model..with NO advertising allowed, and back to what it should be..providing vital information to the public.. the waterskiing squirrels , missing blond women, and assorted quirky diets-of-the week can go to the E-channels

3. radio monopolies need to be broken up, and stations made "local" again

4. public financing of elections..no campaign ad on regular tv, and no campaigning except for the 6 months prior to an election.. and of course, paper callots..hand counted.

Until these 4 things happen, our system is hopelessly broken.
