The games the media plays - Juan (Faux) Williams with Scott Simon on NPR this AM...
My wife and I were on our way to the Farmers market and the 10 o'clock Scott Simon political discussion segment came on, with Juan (GOP enabling) Williams. It was a pretty remarkable segment talking about the Health Care debate. Sounded rational, sounded reasonable, until you really listened closely and realized it was just another example of the media completely misrepresenting the situation by giving the right wing spin equivalent basis to the reality of the situation - he brought up the new findings on the national debt, brought up the nugget that we are moving too fast, it is too expensive - as if people's lives and health were no factor whatsoever, but it is all about messages and politics. And of course, as in all of these Saturday morning political segments, there is no challenge to the lies. Meaning that the less educated listeners will once again think that both sides equally tell the truth, equally lie, and have equal merit.

In just five short minutes, it was an encapsulation of everything that is wrong. It is about rooting against Obama, all that he is doing wrong, none of what he is doing right, none of the BS games being played by the right.

Why can't the media ever report as if they live in this country and are impacted by its direction and decisions?

Hint- because it is just a facade, just a game, just about corporations and greed and selling products.
