healthcare signs
Our organizations have a huge healthcare rally tomorrow (Belmar NJ boardwalk for anyone interested in attending) and I need to make a few signs.

I've seen tons of anti-healthcare signs, but no pro signs. I need to make about 10 so I need ideas.

1. Here's a simple one I printed out on heavy cover stock...
Edited on Sat Aug-22-09 01:11 PM by MineralMan
I stapled two, back to back on a 3' long piece of lath:

The font is a free one called Cowboy. Looks like a wanted poster font. I think the size on the first two lines is 96 pt. and 48 pt. for the other lines. I just do these in Word and print them on an inkjet printer. I made several extra copies, and gave them to several people who asked where I got the signs.

2. Where's the value added from insurance plans?
I loved it when Rep Weiner asked that the other morning on Morning Joe

I'll take your Medicare since you don't want it

The need for more mental heath care is obvious

More Wall St vs Main St

4. Here's a downloadable version of the sign I mentioned
above: It's a Microsoft Word document, and it has the font imbedded in it.

5. Insurance Companies Ration Care to Increase Profits
How about that with a few of the CEO salaries listed beneath it. You can find some at:

Another one I like is:

"Insurance Company Claims Denials are Death Panels"

10. A slogan I thought was catchy
Someone posted to Twitter the slogan "We want healthcare, not wealthcare!" It's short, it's catchy, and it's extremely apt - perfect for a demonstration sign, IMO.

9. I had an idea of putting an enlarged Medicare health card on a poster, something
Edited on Sat Aug-22-09 02:34 PM by Cleita
the panicky seniors would recognize who don't want government health care. This shows what it would look like:

And then something to the effect of "Government Health Care Seniors Can Count On. Shouldn't Everyone Have It?"

I don't know if I could do it by hand or how to enlarge something like it. Also, I would like to make the message with fewer words. We are having a couple of town meetings the first of September in my area and I want something that advocates for a decent government health plan and yet let's the teabaggers know they are full of shit. If you like the idea you are welcome to use it.
