and I went through a few pair of made in America New Balance shoes before acquiescing that they are crap

I'm back to my high quality China made K-Swiss but still searching for an alternative

17. They have a totally different concept of "work shoes" than I do!
I think of high heels as work shoes, lol.....those are like WORK shoes!

I thought your point was that we shouldn't buy from countries who commit human rights abuses, which would rule out the US and China.

16. Well, that actually wasn't my point.
My point, which was not well expressed in my original post, is that it's wrong to define an entire culture or country by one single act, image, or expression of policy.
