Equal Scrutiny?
Should the media give equal scrutiny to Obama's healthcare plan and the "no plan" of the Republicans? Are they giving most of their scrutiny to Obama's plan? I suppose if he came out tomorrow against the death penalty and the Republicans disagreed with him, the media would focus on Obama's decision to come out against the death penalty? Is it that the media is pro-status quo, no matter how insane and irrational it might be?

Most Americans would agree that there are major problems with our healthcare system. For the Republicans to pretend that the status quo is better than Obama's plan, they need to come up with a plan that addresses portability, cost, universal coverage, pre-existing conditions, and other problems present in the system today. If they cannot come up with a plan, then they should be subjected to the same scrutiny as Obama's plan.

The reason the Republicans get a free ride on this issue is because of the media. But that is not breaking news to most folks here. We need to demand fairness from the media on this issue. We want the Republicans "no plan" scrutinized equally with the Presidents. The American people need health coverage and the Republicans are denying it. They do not want any reform at all. And the media is assisting them in their efforts. Just so they know that we know the truth of the matter.
