***BOYCOTT the Randi Rhodes show on Monday***

Heres why: On Friday a regular contributor to the Sean Hannity and Glen Beckkk program by the name of Brian Whitman filled in for Randi. He's scheduled to be back on Monday.

Brain Whitman treated Randis callers like shit. He called Obama "Oblame-a" over and over again........ in a very similar way that freepers do on this site when they think they're blending in. Brian Whitman BEGGED Randis listeners to change the channel.

While the entire program was much like listening to right wing radio, hateful, shallow and boring. It really got ugly in the last hour when Whitman took a call from a woman named Sharla. He kept her on the phone for quite awhile belittling her, again begging her to stop listening to the program and then even suggested that he could cure her from being a lesbian.

It is quite possible that Brian Whitman was booked on Randis show as a way to test the market. To see if this guy Brian and his disgusting antics would pull in more listeners than Randi. After all it is Premiere Radio Networks Inc that carry Randis show. I am told that they are primarily Conservative. Its all about the money, and these assholes don't care a damn about Progressive values.

I think by boycotting Randis show on Monday it could very well help Randi.

doing as fantastic a job as Thom Hartmann in dispelling RW lunacy. Thom Hartmann just has a kinder, gentler approach.

But it is possible that she has recently changed her mind.

There is no question that she is certainly good, even brilliant on some subjects, but in the past I have been very surprised and disappointed at some of her positions, and so when it became more and more difficult to follow her, I just stopped making the effort.

It was disgusting. I never figured out anything about the guy's stands on anything. I tuned in during the call from Sharla. Not only was he obnoxious, he was incredibly boring. I turned it off.

She should be able to pick her own stand-in, and not just be locked in to the other righties they sponsor.

Maybe they are trying to test him as a replacement for Beck too...

When I heard Randi was going on vacation I decided not to listen to her replacements. They're ususally not very good anyway.

for about 1 minute before I figured out he was useless. Back to the Deep tracks on XM immediately.

she was gone on vacation, so was listening to Thom Hartmann instead. He's on XM at the same time Randi is, except he's on channel 167.

Have you heard him before? If not, give him a listen - he's great. I really wish they weren't on at the same time...

The call from Sharla was the last straw. If I want to listen to a raging misogynist pig I'll put on Howard Stern instead of bothering with some half-baked wanna-be.

Otherwise, Randi's shows have improved a great deal lately. She does seem to be a lot nicer to her callers, and probably uses up every bit of her patience with some of the callers. Overall, the show is much better than it was before, and she is still the Goddess in my book.

I have noticed that she has been nicer to callers, has let them make their comment without so much interrupting. And because of that I think she'll be even more pissed that this imposter asshole, Brian Whitman alienated so many listeners. Though I think the biggest asshole his the person(s)who booked him.

I don't have time to agonize over writing a completely original email, since, frankly, I didn't hear the show.

I hope enough people call and write her show so that the producers know that we Dems and Progressives have had enough of this bullshit, these assholes have WAAAAYYYY too much airtime as it is, they dont need to ruin ours with hate speech and lies!

Lionel is an example in my opinion. The really good radio talk show hosts like Thom Hartmann are still going but they keep trying to slip in obnoxiously uneducated people. They need to realize that people who listen to liberal talk radio are, in general, better educated and think more critically. Just listen to the callers. It should be pretty obvious. This is another dumbing down effort.
