Obama's eventual healthcare bill will satisfy few.

Obama eventually will get a health care bill to sign. But it will be a bill that will satisfy few. Progressives will scream even louder that the bill sans a public option, and a deal laden with big Pharma giveaways, is smoke and mirrors, a sham reform, and another infuriating betrayal of his campaign pledge of hope and change. The Fox Network, Limbaugh, and the GOP attack hounds will scream even louder that the bill and Obama are taking the country down a sink hole. The bill will leave the majority of voters confused, perplexed, and even more uneasy about what Obama is really up to, and his seeming inability to be the tough, decisive leader that millions took a chance on and backed.

For right now, this pretty well sums up how I feel.... ugh....

1. We shouldn't subsidize that purchase of private insurance.
The government should insure people who can't afford private insurance.

2. I am wary too but
until we know which bill is able to get through the House and the Senate, we keep the pressure on. I agree, without a good public option (for me that means govt. sponsored), it won't be worth much. Future administrations could change it to take away the items fought for - like accepting people with pre-existing conditions.

Right now, it's a wait-and-see game until they are all back in D.C.

5. People don't want to wait and see. They have to determine it is a Failure right NOW.
Doom and gloom. It's all over already. It's pathetic around here right now.

9. It's not over already. There is a slim chance that we might get something decent,
however, it does look slim. And that is terribly sad to miss this opportunity.

At my Representative's town hall yesterday, more of the watered-down public option got trotted out. I fail to see how those who can't afford health insurance now will be able to without massive change of the insurance corporation's fees.

Paying several thousands a year is absurd and impossible for most of the uninsured. Glad that some people look like they'll be getting some assistance, but I won't qualify, given what I've read....

10. I dunno about Obama=fail. I'd invite Obama to spend some time on an Indian Reservation or
at the US Remote Area Medical provisions of care to get an up close experience of the US third world healthcare.
