Let Diana DeGette, my representative and Chief Deputy Majority Whip, take your position. She'll get these Blue Dogs cowering and begging Pelosi to ram in single payer health care plan.

1. Absolutely agree.
The Democrats have to start punishing these people, especially in leadership positions, that go off on their own and make statements that hurt the ability to pass meaningfull reform with a public option. As I always state when I call for 'punishment' I don't want lock step voting on every issue but I would think the health care reform is very high on the Democrats agenda and in those cases members of the party should get with the message or shut up.

3. Awful precedent.
"The Democrats have to start punishing these people" is an awful thing for a party to do.

What's the Majority leader posiion for, if he/she is not allowed to state his/her position????

6. Oh yes because...
Give me a break this is the problem with the Democrats 'we have to play fair. Everybody has a right to their opinion'. Yeah, and get use the Democrat's failing at everything they try to do. This is politics not badminton sometimes toes have to be stepped on. The majority leader is the to be the spokesperson for what the party has chosen to do not to spread his or her own opinions. If they want to have more freedom let them step down from their leadership positions and they can say anything they want until we can get them out of office. This is why the Democrat's always are susceptible to the charge of being weak-kneed and ineffective in office because we are so worried about playing 'fair' that we truly can't get anything done. As stated before they should get with the plan or shut up!
