The subject for this contest is GREEN.

FINALS will run until Tuesday, August 25th, 5 p.m. PST, at which time the winners will be announced in the Photography Group.


Don't forget to vote and please feel free to share your comments! Oh, and please do K&R!


And for all of us who thought the prelims were tough...OMG! How to decide? This may take a little soul searching, coz get a load of these phenomenal entries. Each and every one a winner in its own right!

it's hard to say one is better than the rest! I picked "California Hailstorm" probably just b/c of the mood I'm in. What a creative way to say "GREEN!"

57. This is very very hard... the "sea of green" pic is a Monet painting,
breathtaking. . I would buy a print of this.

Ginko's composition is magnificently elegant. .I can TASTE the California Hail Storm . .

But for wind and moisture in my face, and in my nose and immersion in green, I have to go with
Hurricane Creek.

I would like a whole CALENDAR of "green"

It saddens me to know that most creeks, lakes, streams, rivers and even the oceans are so polluted now. Someone once told me the Mohawk River, in upstate New York used to contain Sturgeon, which produce fine caviar, but no longer. Though the river has been cleaned up, some what, the river will probably never contain sturgeon again.

I have seen beaches in Santa Barbara closed due to pollution danger. This is so very sad.
