I want to apologize to the Scottish people for the rudeness of Blitzer

that's CNN's Wolf Blitzer on their news show around 6 p.m. last night.

he was interviewing a Scottish official on why they released the bomber who is dying of cancer.

he was acting like a damn bully! with a nasty tone of voice and bullying words. asking the official the same question over and over in a demanding way.

the official had the patience of the proverbial saint and didn't tell him to f--k himself. but kept repeating the official Scottish law and way of thinking.

Blitzer was really showing the world what an 'ugly american' he is.

again, I apologize to the Scottish people for his extreme rudeness to your official.

an aside:

some of the american families who lost people in the bombing are acting ridiculous. and acting like the Scottish people didn't lose any families. or have any feelings.

its embarrassing being an american some times having to witness such juvenile ravings.

our "leaders" who break the law . . .

7. According to a Scottish guest I heard on NPR, many people there believe...
...the man was wrongly convicted.

9. yes--the judge who sent him home
has been receiving evidence of police malpractice in the case for many years. Perhaps he made his decision on that a little early.

Anyway, I am so ashamed of our vindictiveness, when the Scots can forgive this man they imprisoned for so long. Meanwhile we allow Posada Carriles to walk free. http://www.finalcall.com/artman/publish/article_2009.shtml

Ugly American indeed.

11. When I went to school in Europe for a few years, there were two kinds of annoying Americans:
Most American students were just fine, but two kinds of them were intensely annoying:

1. The ones that thought America was vastly superior to anything European, and acted like asses.

2. The ones who fell over themselves sucking up to Europeans for how stupid America is, and acted like asses.

You remind me of the second sort. Quite a bit.

This issue is very meaningful and real for a lot of people. I don't remotely blame many of the family members for being outraged and shocked by the release of a man who was convicted of killing their family member(s). I also don't believe for a minute that the totality of the Scottish people are behind releasing a convicted terrorist. In your great rush to self-flagellate yourself for being American, you have vastly oversimplified what's going on here.
