To The Birfers, Deathers, Tea Baggers et al. America is NOT Your Country

"all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.


That one statement, enshrined in the declaration of independence, is the root of Liberal (yes Librul) philosophy.



They want the Country they once knew. One filled with hate.



That is their America - that is what they want back.

They say they want the Government out of their business (I guess they do but their spelling often causes confusion)



but where were they when the US Government was getting in to the business of other Nations all around the World?

You may fear Obama all you want. America is not yours. It belongs to the majority that voted for this man.




So deal with it and as their great hero said of "Liberal" protestors against the then President - shut up and deal with it.

7. That's exactly what the OP states by Default
they are the ones claiming it's THEIRS and nobody else's. I'm pretty confident the OP did not mean to be exclusive as you suggest.

10. Indeed.
The United States of America is a Country of immigrants from around the World. The right have no "right" to claim the Country as their own, it belongs to ALL American citizens and the majority of voting Americans voted for the Democratic Party in the last two elections.

"The people" voted for change (something Blue Dogs should also remember).

15. great thread by the Way... the Right have tried to take the flag and every other
decent thing this country has offered and warped it for their exclusively whacked agenda. I'm sick of it... when they fly the flag it disgusts me, because they have no right to feel they OWN it.

5. Yet at some point a distinction must be made.
The right is advocating violence, the left democratic change. Doesn't that disqualify the right from the civic process?

12. Our disagreement is absolute.
Coercion and violence have no place in a democracy.

Those on the right advocating such tactics and strategies of intimidation must be excluded until they are willing to engage in reasoned and peaceful discussion.

The problem here is the plural pronoun. English has no plural inclusive or plural exclusive declensions, so there may be some confusion... I believe the OP is indicating an exclusive form of "their", meaning "conservative", "white", "whoever agrees with them", etc. That is the plural pronoun teabaggers and such are prone to use, if you examine what they say.

The OP, I believe, is saying that there is no "your country" (plural exclusive), but there is "our country" (inclusively).

There will always exist those who want to deny the future & will do everything to make it stop. But that's like trying to stop the sunrise.
