So I'm watching a town hall on C-Span with Congressman Gene Taylor, Mississippi.
My head is exploding. I have never seen so many drooling idiots in one place. When the Congressman claimed he voted for the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, there were loud cheers all around. The Congressman proceeded to call for killing those who needed to be killed. Lots of cheering. :wtf:I came in at the end of some speech he made about health care and a big fat, sweaty guy claimed that if we got national health care it would be like his nephew in New Zealand, who got a rotator cuff injury and had to wait nine months to see a doctor. Then he proceeded to rail on all the fraud in Medicare, a program that he no doubt benefits from. The Congressman told him he should report Medicare fraud if he saw it, which started people shouting. Why he didn't call that person a liar or at least ask him if he had any documentation to present about the anecdotal allegations against the New Zealand health care system, I am mystified. Every time someone said something they didn't agree with the shouting started again. I had to turn it off.

My deepest condolences to our Mississippi DUers. Oh, mama mia, what you have to put up with!

1. I watched it too. These so-called "Americans" are disgusting...

...self-centered, ugly, and angry -- and I am sure a lot of their anger is fueled because they are just pissing their pants due to the fact that we have an African-American as our President. I see the same thing here in rural Pennsylvania.

And then that Blue Dog so-called "Democrat" Gene Taylor. He is all for saving money but is clueless about the real costs of having his fellow citizens uninsured and underinsured. He says he will NOT vote for health care reform, but wants to take care of the problem with a little insurance regulation and prescription drug cost negotiation. Lotta good that does someone who has NO coverage at all.

This so-called "Democratic" congressman and these asshole constituents deserve each other.

2. That's what I thought.
If we don't get the health care reform, we need thanks to them, they deserve it. Some day down the line when they need it, it won't be there.

Talk about a blue-dog. Everyone hates him but the alternative is worse.

6. I understand your parent's dilemma.
Many of us feel the same here in California about Dianne Feinstein.
