I Am Sick To Death Of All This Fucking Around
health care

no health care

health care reform

insurance reform

insurance reform sorta

maybe a little health care

single payer

no way

public option

maybe but don't get your hopes up

my god!

these "representatives" had better start "representing" or they're gonna find themselves looking for new employment

and obama had better start taking these bulls and all their bullshit by the horns if he wants to make a positive mark/difference for this country

...tired of hearing about all this back & forth crap
...all this up and down shit
...of feeling like we're being played

way too many of these "reps" are severely lacking in the morals and ethics department

the disillusionment i feel brewing inside me is incredible

the devastation bush left in my soul was starting to heal with the bright spot of "hope" that was offered to us and the"change" that was promised to us

crushing down hope is serious business

if they take that away then i'm back to square one: i got nothing.

i've often thought obama has the weight of the world on his shoulders. and as if that wasn't enough--he's also got to withstand the weight of the future--our future--our political future--a democratic future--if we are to survive.

he needs to get out the gloves, start kicking ass and taking names. he needs to make people understand who is in our corner and who is sabotaging and the real reasons behind it.

obama needs to step up to the plate and tell these assholes: ENOUGH! IT'S TIME TO DO THE RIGHT THING. SO DO IT! AND GET THIS DONE!

--i just had to say it. i'll shut up now.

18. Ain't that the truth!
They wanted to postpone the bill because they thought short attention span Americans would be on to the next thing. Oops.

3. It is this disillusionment of allies which accounts for his dropping poll numbers.
But if you can be a friend to a friend in need of your continuing support, you will be a friend indeed.

4. K&R. Obama needs to stop with the mixed signals. Either he INSISTS on public option, or he doesn't.
He can't have it both ways.

7. You just gave voice to my thoughts about all this.
I am sick to death of being shoved over the cliff by our elected politicians.

Sometimes I wonder if part of their oath of office includes the line, "And I promise to not listen to my constituents, and to do everything in my power to completely forget who voted me into office."

8. Leadership is about decision-making
not fucking around and getting fucked by your sworn enemies while waiting for the assholes in Congress to MAYBE give you a bill.

This whole thing is a bad clusterfuck. The sad thing is it could have been avoided.

12. The First Family is on a vacation. I'm taking one, too.
I agree with you and would add...

"Obama is off message, no he's not, now his is, did you hear what ___ said?, Politico sez, etc., etc..."

August is the month for every member of congress to do or not do WTF they do (or not do) and it really gives people the sense of the clusterfuck that government can be.

We are witness to the making of sausage.

I'm hoping that at the right time Obama will step up with a well-timed focused statement of what the next steps are going to be.

With Pelosi helping out and with the Senate carefully dialed in (with respect to what will and won't fly), we should be able to identify the most critical things to include in the bill and move to the next step.

Will it be a bill passing with 3/5 or will it take the budget resolution path?

Too soon to tell.

I've got yardwork to do and a deck and dock on the water to enjoy.

There's no place like home...

15. There ya' go, that's the spirit...
I've sent emails and electronic faxes. That took all of 15 minutes.

I hear from Dean, Kaine, barackobama.com, and McNerney (my rep) in case there's any particular action to take.

Now I feel like that political action part of my life is on autopilot so, as you say, time to check out that yellow jacket nest, sort through old photos, something fun!

These town halls, Between the media, the Congresspeople, and the teabaggers make it very difficult to keep up with what's up or down. All they have to do is create chaos. We have to learn how to counteract it while we watch in dismay as

28. That's because it *is* a circus act. The result is foreordained, except for the little horsedeals
on the margins.

No universal health*care*, & no getting rid of the insurance cos.

Thus no cost savings; thus cost increases either for most people or for the "uninsured well," i.e. young people with no employer coverage.

29. My dad was saying the exact same thing last night. I'm sick of NO UNIFIED
MESSAGE from the Democrats. How can they NOT have learned about this from the repugs?? 1). Identify your message, 2). Make sure everyone understands the message, 3). repeat the message over and over until the public accepts it as truth. Fox "news" does this, Limbaugh and the rest of the rabid talking heads do this, every GOP congress critter does this...and it's EXACTLY how they make people accept and adopt insane, unpopular ideas. We have the truth, sanity and morality on our side, and we can't make that work for us?? C'Mon Obama! Lead by example! People don't know what you stand for, so they aren't behind you 100%. Being noncommittal about policy isn't being "politically prudent"; it's weak. Our lives are on the line here!
