Millions Face Shrinking Social Security Payments

WASHINGTON -- Millions of older people face shrinking Social Security checks next year, the first time in a generation that payments would not rise.

The trustees who oversee Social Security are projecting there won't be a cost of living adjustment (COLA) for the next two years. That hasn't happened since automatic increases were adopted in 1975.

Bush played them by giving a 5% raise last year. We need to play damage control.

to become the enemy of Seniors. Perception in politics is often
more important than reality.

This plus the appearance they will be throwing Mediare Advantage
Clients to the streets in order to insure those who do not
have insurance.

Dems are beginning to give the perception that they are as bad
as republicans for seniors.

Guess what as one consultant puts it. Old People vote and when
they are angry they vote no. This means watch out at the next
election. They just vote no.

it will come out of the SS checks.

Indeed, the checks will be smaller and that is not a healthy thing to happen for most seniors.
