Can someone help me find a comprehensive explanation of the organized rallies and town hall

disruptions?

I've been looking for something that pulls it all together. I want to post it on the website of the local teabagger group.

campaign. Believe it or not I know other Democrats that are scared to death about the uncontrollable spending spree we are on. Sure a lot of it is Bush's fault he came in with a surplus and tripled the debt. That doesn't give Obama licence to spend us into bankruptcy. I think he would be best to get the economy out of the ditch and get some job growth going before creating a huge government program. Either that or grow a pair and do what you think is right for the country, if you think we need this health-care legislation vote it in, the hell with politics.

We need to accept the country is split about 50/50 every time the right protests something we claim they are funded/organized by one group or another while every time we have a peace protest etc. they claim we are funded by xyz etc. The FACT is that this country is deeply divided and both sides are really p!$$ed. I hope a sane voice that recognizes this rift appears in the near future or I fear for what may come. We are only being manipulated by our own prejudices.

Thats why we flopped Carter/Reagan Bush/Clinton Clinton/Bush Bush/Obama. But I guess if you think the last election was a land slide then we should ram home everything we want since we have the whitehouse AND congress. To hell with the other side entirely right? Don't complain then when they flip out and arm themselves etc.

My point is we SHOULD pursue a progressive path (because yes we did win) but we should make some attempts at extending the olive branch. We should recognize that if the last half dozen+ elections are any indicator its fairly likely we will have to eat any extended authority we give the government now. You may not like the fact (I don't) but we are divided about 50/50 the sooner we come to grips with that the better.

That was a MEGA SIGN, Hint, Clue, Signal, missed by only a few...that the once vaunted mighty GOP was Falling on Hard Times.

Two Election defeats in a row ... Much was said at the time...but as we look back ...to the causes of the GOP losses...Its a whole conglomeration of Reasons....mostly Negative...

Me thinks its closer to 60 40....

We got Reason, Truth, and Clarity...

They got BS and Secrecy.....

My opinion is not necessarily in line with your assumptions about it. I actually do not think the widely swinging political pendulum is a good thing. I would prefer a slower, methodical building of progressive policy that would build a solid base of success and convince voters LONG TERM to keep the building going.

We are not divided 50/50, but we let propagandists convince us we are. A steady increase im successful progressive policies would prove the lie of their rantings.

It is just that well, we are split about 50/50. In urban areas most are progressive/liberal, and as such most who live in urban areas see mostly people who generally think like they do and think "how can anyone think differently?" In rural areas the majority are conservative and most people they know think like they do and they wonder how anyone could think differently. I caution only against assuming that we have some sort of monopoly on opinion when every election for the last 50+ years begs to differ. In the 80's Republicans assumed that because they won the presidency in a landslide everyone was on board with them, wrong. In the 90's we assumed that with Clinton all were on board with us ...wrong (see 1994 congressional elections). To assume now that because we won the last go around that everyone is on board with us will lead only to a repetition of the same old cycle.

What more proof do you need than that? Well that is if you're not an idiot that sides with them.
