1. There's a large concentration of Hispanics there
and Hispanics got the message about what the GOP was even before the party abused Sotomayor during the hearings.

I live in a border state where Anglos are just another minority. I know what I'm talking about.

Hispanic conservatives, especially religious ones, do exist. However, they're going to be more likely to stay home than vote for the white power party.

10. He looks like somewhat of a mixed bag to me.
Good on social issues, but a "free trader" and a H1b supporter, as far as I can tell...

SUPREME COURT BARS ACCESS TO CONGRESSMAN'S SEALED DIVORCE RECORDS

The Supreme Court has refused to consider a Texas newspaper's appeal of its unsuccessful attempt to unseal the court record of Congressman Ruben Hinojosa's divorce. (Freedom Communications, Inc. v. Mancias, May 4, 1998.) Although a federal district court held that the Texas statute authorizing state judges to seal divorce files violates the First Amendment, the court refused to order the state judge who heard Hinojosa's divorce to open the file to the public.

Hinojosa was a prominent businessman in Texas when he was divorced from his wife in 1987. Acting under a Texas statute that permits state judges to seal divorce files, Judge Fernando Mancias sealed the entire Hinojosa file without notice to the public or any hearing.
