Vikings-colored goat rescued from woman’s trunk at repair shop;
Had Favre’s number shaved on side and plans to butcher it

Posted on Aug 24, 2009 by John McGlothlen.

WINONA, Minn. (AP) – A woman on her way to St. Paul really got the goat of auto repairman James Prusci. She went to Tires Plus in Winona Friday, wanting a belt replaced on her Chevy Malibu. While he was doing paperwork, she said she had a goat in her trunk. “A what?” he asked. She told him she planned to butcher it.

It was painted Minnesota Viking colors – purple and gold – with Brett Favre’s No. 4 shaved on its side. Favre made his Vikings debut Friday in a preseason game. Prusci called animal control, which took the goat to a local vet. He was renamed Brett and placed in foster care. Animal control officer Wendy Peterson said Monday the city attorney is reviewing the case for possible citations.

2. Well, it's pretty strange but surely it isn't illegal to butcher a goat...

4. It's may not be illegal to kill. But there are still laws against abuse.

14. Cruelty however is illegal. I seriously doubt the goat will be returned.

I hope a local ordinance blocks her, or she's too embarrassed to lay claim.

She's a nasty piece of work...

7. Right. What has a poor innocent goat done
to be sacrificed on the altar of fan craze?

Of course, watching the local media, and perhaps beyond, one would think that everyone has a job and an easy access to health care, and that our troops do not commit suicide.

9. Interesting.
The link has a link to a Winona paper, and currenty (10:22 pm, 8/24) there's an article about a third crime, kidnapping of all or part of a goat herd.

I wonder if this woman hadn't bought a goat that had been used in a pep valley and was going to butcher it for Ramadan. (Yes, it's making rather a leap, but seriously. Most people do not transport goats in the trunks of their cars for butchering.)

10. It was painted Vikings colors...
...and had Favre's #4 shaved into its fur.

I'm guessing that ain't a standard Ramadan tradition.:P

13. Possible citations? Jeebus. WTF is wrong with people, and what's wrong with animal control
She should have been arrested on the spot for cruelty.
