1. I love iTunes radio.
The ambient channels, all-piano classical station, the zydeco station... LOVE IT!

2. KEXP and KCRW
kexp.org and kcrw.org

Both play EXCELLENT new music that can't be heard on broadcast radio in the radio wasteland that is the Washington DC metro area. They both podcast as well, allowing me to take chunks of their programming with me.

Of course, I'd love to be able to stream directly to my car stereo while driving. But not with today's technology.

3. Oh, so many!
Yahoo! Music Launch is great... so is Pandora. Not really radio because you aren't bombarded with so many commercials. Old fashioned broadcast radio is fine for me in the car and at home, on the rare occasion I listen at home. My b/f and I are audiophiles and have tons of new CDs waiting for play time. We like a lot of garage bands and obscure stuff that you don't find on any radio, internet, cable or broadcast. Although I recently heard there is a "Garage" station on cable!

4. Internet radio is in BIG trouble
I love it. Best thing going. But it is a threat to too many other GOP-friendly businesses. Who will PAY for satellite if the same stuff is available online? The RIAA is on a quest to pass legislation that will effectively eliminate internet radio.

Do something!

5. Addicted.
Bandwidth was the biggest issue I had.

The other issues I've had with internet radio is that it's not under the same FCC rules as "on air" radio. Things like volume levels (too high, too low), station servers being down for weeks at a time, bit rates that are too fast for satellite downloading access policies.

Otherwise, I've been only listening to internet radio since around 1996. I've even had it going by using a generator, when I lived off the grid, in the middle of nowhere.

Right now I'm off for a bike ride. I'm listening to WFMU, and it might be nice to be able to listen away from the computer. It's just something I accept. Being able to have radio from all over the world makes up for it.
