"My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it."

- Edward Kennedy, from the Eulogy for his Brother, Robert F. Kennedy, St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City, June 8, 1968

'And may it be said of us, both in dark passages and in bright days, in the words of Tennyson that my brothers quoted and loved, and that have special meaning for me now:
'I am a part of all that I have met....
Tho much is taken, much abides....
That which we are, we are--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
...strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.'"

- Edward Kennedy, Democratic Convention Keynote Address "The Cause Endures," New York City, 1980

7. God Bless You Senator Kennedy
Senator Kennedy's 1980 Presidential campaign is the first I volunteered for.

The darkness of his passing will be lit by the shining example of his life.

31. It's hard to imagine there is only one left.
There have been Kennedys in the news since I was a small child....and I'm almost 60 years old. This just hurts.

I was raised as a Kennedy Democrat, and politics without Ted in the Senate is something I have never seen. A lifetime of service. He will be missed deeply.

35. We have lost so much, for so long now, haven't we?
Thank you, Hissyspit, for the pics.

My eyes are wet and there is a lump in my throat blocking all the feelings that have to come out sooner or later today.

The last whisper of Camelot is gone, replaced by a too long line of sheer idiocracy.

So much gone now.

36. Beautiful tribute, Hissyspit. Thank you for reminding us...
my favorite:

'And may it be said of us, both in dark passages and in bright days, in the words of Tennyson that my brothers quoted and loved, and that have special meaning for me now:
'I am a part of all that I have met....
Tho much is taken, much abides....
That which we are, we are--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
...strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.'"

- Edward Kennedy, Democratic Convention Keynote Address "The Cause Endures," New York City, 1980

The Kennedys have always been the strongest and most eloquent public speakers we have ever been gifted with.

God bless the Kennedys today, may they find peace and comfort in their legacy and those who have left us all too soon.

K & R, Hissy...you rocked it out of the park.
