I just realized this.

Absolutely unbelievable.

One year ago tonight was "his hope rises again and the dream lives on" speech at the first night tribute that each political convention has to the party icons. It was the first night of the DNC as well that went on to nominate President Obama.

I don't know how many of you remember that night but it was a turning point. I never really doubted that Senator Obama would win after that. Michelle spoke during the 10 p.m. hour that night as well.

Speaking of President Obama and the First Lady, this will hit them very very hard I suspect.

5. Also, one of his final acts
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 01:45 AM by Politics_Guy25
was to help to resurrect Camelot, a young charismatic president with a beautiful wife and charming family. He brought America back to what it was prior to Nov 22, 1963. Not politically of course with no civil rights, etc. I mean the sense of optimism, innocence, pride, etc.

7. Remember it so clearly. Such a powerful and inspiring speech. One Obama will endlessly look back
on with enormous gratitude, I would imagine.

8. I wonder ...
Often the dying hang on a few days or weeks, until a significant occasion. That's why so many folks die after the Christmas holidays. Perhaps he remembered that day as well, as a passing of the torch, as an important milestone in his long career.

Well done, good and faithful servant . . . Enter into the joy of your Lord.
