Think about how awful it must be to lose 2 of your brothers to an assassin's bullet
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 09:16 AM by Lorax7844
Think about how awful it would be to lose all of your brothers prematurely. I can empathize with how Senator Kennedy was feeling in 1969, I have 3 brothers and would be devastated to lose them all.

3. I know, instead of being a drunk
*cough*Dubya*cough* he dedicated his life to helping every American. I was just thinking about his dire circumstances.

8. Well... Bush had a tough life too
One time, at the country club, his frat brother got vomitous on his new loafers.

9. I was just thinking about what to say to douchenozzles that keep bringing it up
not people here but people elsewhere.

About how after the death of all three of his brothers he had a rough spot that EVERYONE should be able to empathize with, and how they would be shouting that shit from the roof tops if it had been a repub.

Not only did he overcome that, he helped everyone.

I wasn't kidding though, I have three brothers and if all three of them were killed I would be drunk as a skunk, that is the only way I would be able to deal with it.

16. And don't forget two sisters, Rosemary and Kathleen.
Yeah, yeah, Rosemary wasn't killed; she just had her personality cut out of her brain.

Alcoholism is a badass disease. I think he must've had a very spiritual side for it to not kneecap him 100%.

27. In fact
Many, many ex junkies and ex alcoholics I know that shoot up with Jesus instead become conservative pricks.

It's like a backdoor clause to moral superiority for them. "I found Jesus while stoned out of my mind selling my liver for coke money, but you with all your blessings couldn't. Ergo I must be better than you"

Kennedy shook the booze but always stayed true to the people. In fact in many ways he was the greatest of the three Kennedy brothers.

26. Also worth considering:
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 09:50 AM by no_hypocrisy
Losing your eldest brother in war due to his airplane exploding in mid-air.

Losing your eldest sister first to organic mental illness and then to a botched lobotomy.

Losing your father to a stroke where he can no longer communicate with you years before he actually dies.

Losing your nephew to an airplane accident.

Losing your sister-in-law to cancer.

Almost losing your son to bone cancer.

Almost losing your life in an airplane accident and then a car accident, leaving you to survive while another perished.

The man is truly amazing that he could overcome a personal history of those tragedies and rise above it all to be a hero for The People. I've always believed that it isn't so much what you do as much what you do in spite of your challenges. RIP Senator Kennedy.
