In a vivid piece of political theater, Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts attacked his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, tonight for his views on abortion, health care and Social Security.

"I am pro-choice," Mr. Kennedy said during an exchange on abortion. "My opponent is multiple choice."

The Romneys, the Bushes, and other Republican political families don't get that whole "public" service angle. They're in it for the money they and their overrich pals can make. You will never see a Republican start a program such as Special Olympics, champion Social Security, advocate health care for all, fight for civil rights, or encourage the full participation of all citizens in the society.
