Will the flags fly at half mast for Kennedy?
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 10:04 AM by The Backlash Cometh
Check in. What state are you in and are the government agencies flying their flags at half mast?

How long does it usually take for the federal branches to get the message to pay their respects? What's the usual process?

1. Don't Know About The Flags, Haven't Gone Out... But My Stomach Is In
KNOTS! Couldn't even eat my usual banana for breakfast and my coffee is burning inside me now!!!

Bobby was the ONE that tore me up the most back then, but he NEVER got to do what Teddy did!! Youthful indiscretions made him into a superb human who gave so much back to his country! Coming from having so much, the Kennedy's have been a family that SERVED this country well!

Farewell, Teddy... who will step up now???

2. I work for local government in NC
and our flags are flying at half mast today. Have been since the start of the day. I don't know about our post office - I didn't look when I passed it this morning.

4. I just bought a new flag and pole yesterday.

I put it up this morning--at half staff.

edit: if you have the kind of pole that attaches to your house at a 45 degree angle, the proper way to do a half staff is to have the pole stick out perpendicular to the wall of the house so that the flag hangs horizontally. My bracket has a position for each; I know not all of them do.

10. Mine has one position only.

But I still have it up, outside.

It's my way of honoring him.

All my Repub neighbors, and the few
Dems around here know why it's there.
