Sen. Kennedy on healthcare reform: "What we can't afford is to wait another generation."

Here is what our beloved Senator thought was essential to the healthcare reform:

1. First we have to cover the uninsured.

2. All Americans required to have health insurance.

3. Cut the costs of healthcare with the public plan option. Social justice is often the best economics

4. people can keep the insurance they already have

5. prevent disease, not just cure it.

1. His staff has been working on a health care bill that he wanted to present

to the Senate - have they got that bill ready to go? Does it cover all we want? Why not have someone like Kerry bring it to the floor NOW in honor of the Lion of the Senate? Let it be his work. Similarly isn't there an immigration reform bill in process right now? This would be the best honor we could pay to him.
