3. "I may have killed but I didn't kill as many people as Hitler." That's what his excuse
sounded like to me.

5. He is Looking Like He Needs A Blue...

Pill and a trip to see his lover and I'm not talking about Mrs Sanford either.

Looking pretty stressed.

7. The Lt. Gov of SC has asked him to resign and....
...other GOP'ers in the state want to impeach.

8. Well, go for it, fellas.
I don't mind mistresses because I prefer my leaders to screw their girlfriends rather than the country. But SANFORD LEFT THE STATE LEADERLESS FOR A WEEK. They should have arrested him when he returned. There is no excusing, no forgiving that stunning piece of self-indulgence.

10. How about they screw neither?
If you're married, don't cheat. If you want lovers (plural), don't get married.

Pretty simple, if you ask me.

12. He won't resign.
If he hasn't resigned over all his shenanigans by now, he's not going to. He has to show his sons he's not a quitter. An adulterer, but no quitter.

Even impeachment and/or criminal charges will take time. Meanwhile he's taking his tour on the road.

He has his theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZOj6wRMM4s

I wish they would send him out to Fort Sumter for the duration.

14. No.

He is a Retwit. The Governor and Lt. Governor don't share a ticket. Sanford is an idiotic libertarian ideologue.
Bauer is just idiotic.

Edit: Another twist is that if Bauer becomes governor, State Senator Glenn McConnell would become Lt. Governor. However, he is President Pro Tempore. That is just about the most powerful position in the state. The Lt. Governor is just about the most powerless. It's right behind those ladies who wear white uniforms, hairnets, and serve lunch.

McConnell has been working on something to prevent this from happening. There is no way he will become Lt. Governor unless that position is suddenly given the power of Gawd and Jeebus.

18. Sanford still does not understand that this is not about him.
Someone needs to slap him silly and tell him, "This is not about you!" It's about his family, his constituents, and every one else he's abandoned, yet he still thinks this is all about him, what he is facing, what the costs are to him.

And if I was one of his sons, and dad kept yammering on about "setting an example for my kids," I'd tell him, in front of God, the media and everyone, "Not cheating on mom would have been a good start, asshole."

19. Sanford has his own world.
He has his ideas, and there is no way you can dissuade him. You have to conform to his thinking.

He will explain it ad nauseum if he doesn't think you understand. He is now on his "I'm Sorry, but Since I Said I'm Sorry, I Shouldn't Have To Resign" Tour. Sanford will stay on this tour until he has visited every place with a stoplight and gone down every pig path.

He will start over if he thinks people don't get it.
