The Kennedys and The Bushes
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 03:28 PM by maxpower
Both are political dynasties (at least the Bush's like to think so). The right idolize the Bush's, who have brought more than their share of death and destruction to this world and our constitution. The Kennedy's on the other hand, continue to work tirelessly for those less fortunate. It is not even a close comparison. So let the freeper's try to create a political dynasty from a pile of crap. Suck on that freeper's. End of rant.

Edited for finger failure

3. Not quite accurate. At least Burger King is marginally edible. More like comparing
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 03:09 PM by grace0418
that steak to rancid, rotting roadkill. Disgusting, useless, a waste of life, and poisoning everything around it.

Kennedy:
Joe Jr. - KIA in WWII
John - PT109
Robert - Enlisted in Naval Academy October 1943
Ted - enlisted in the United States Army in June 1951

Bush:
George W. - Texas Air National Guard ... but never proven that he showed up ...
Jeb - Daddy was fine with him being a "conscientious objector", but avoided having to be drafted ...
um ...

5. The Kennedys qualify as a dynasty....
The Bushes qualify as a mafia family.

7. Unfortunately, their patriarch Joseph P. Kennedy wanted to be the Bushes.
He suffered from societal inferiority all of his life and his sons escaped that complex.

11. The sins of the father....
do not transfer to the sons. Sure, they all have skeletons to hide, but the good they have done and accomplished in their lifetimes (not just the sons, but the daughters as well!) surely outweighs the bad ten-fold. Joe Sr. & Rose must have done something right along the way.

10. Two families of great privilege.
Both flawed, both imperfect. There any similarity ends.

The Kennedys created a legacy of service to the country that gave them everything. They continue to give back.

The Bushes became a curse, plundering the country that gave them everything. They continue to take whatever they can get their hands on.

The Kennedys call upon the best of our natures. The Bushes reward the darkest inclinations.

12. I recall being really ticked off
When Time or Newsweek (don't remember which) did a big piece in 2000 after the election on the Bush Dynasty, trying to echo the Kennedy's, complete with a big family tree telling us who are future rulers would be, too.

16. My point
Trying to make something out of nothing. Name one good thing the Bushes did that didn't benefit them or their friends. I think the Kennedys paid a huge toll for there public service. The Bushes, not so much.

19. The Bushes were just in it for themselves
Their own aggrandisement.

Cheney too, and all the rest.

Maybe they sugar coated it by telling themselves it was what was best for the nation also.

15. Please forgive any other glaring errors
I just wanted to get my point across, and appreciate all the responses. Joe was no saint I understand that. If Bush (the smarter of the piss ant) can be forgiven for his Nazi appeasing concentration camp war profiteering father, then the Kennedys can be forgiven for Joe's unsavory past.

21. Joe and Prescott were both pretty bad
But Joe's descendants did some good. Maybe it's the influence of their mother.

Prescott's just dragged this country down.

to be.

Sad is'nt it. The good ones got bumped off, allowing the bad ones to gain multiple presidencies.

30. Decent point!
The Kennedy's and the Bush's will both be remembered forever- the difference is that the Kennedy's will be remembered with honor, integrity, and respect, and will be role models. The Bush's will be remembered for being stupid crazy assholes, and for making Ann Coulter horny as hell!
