I live in a red area, but there are folks who realize there's a lot of hype going around. This phrase, I think, will appeal to them. And once they've started reading it and realize the lies that have been said....nobody is madder than someone who has been conned.

stand in a huge group of anti healthcare dorks... hold up a sign that says "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT" AND have it have arrows pointing to the people around you.

I'd appear at townhalls with these signs, but given that I'm in South Dakota, I'd like to stay alive, at the same time. It's truly sickening how hypocritical they are. Ranting and raving about the "gubmint" and such, then raking in the farm and ranch subsidies, disaster relief from the myriad of blizzards and floods, federal highway maintenance, without which most farmers and ranchers couldn't get anywhere with their produce and tourists couldn't get there to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore, etc., etc., etc. And speaking of tourism-the very area that's the most virulently anti-government, Rapid City and the West River area of the state, also benefits the most from it. If it weren't for the federal government's operation and maintenance of Mt. Rushmore, and if it hadn't been for the building of the roads and sites and resorts most used by tourists in the Black Hills by the CCC camps during the Depression, the area would be NOTHING. PERIOD. But you just can't get that through to them at all.

Then there are those who want the benefits paid for by everyone, but they don't want anyone else but THEM to receive such benefits. Like the IHS (Indian Health Service) and VA (there are several VA hospitals in the area) and Medicare recipients here who scream about not wanting any "gubmint" interference and not wanting to pay taxes for anyone else. Gee, thanks, assholes. YOU expect ME to pay for YOUR health care but YOU don't want ME or anyone else getting the same. Selfish hypocrites.

"Vote for a Single Payer National Health plan."
