Kudos to MSNBC...
I purposely left my TV off today, just in case someone said something unkind or disparaging against Senator Kennedy. I wanted to grieve in my own silence and with my friends at DU. Some of the finest posts I've ever read on this site were posted today and I am very grateful for the kindness and beautiful words coming from this wonderful site.

I finally decided to tune into MSNBC to see how they were handling this sadness. Chris Matthews was superb and his guests (I tuned in around the Roger Simon segment) were regaling stories we all love to hear. I'm now watching Ed and he is devoting his hour to Senator Kennedy. I dare not go to CNN because that would involve Blitzer and of course Faux is out of the question. I'm looking forward to the next few hours on MSNBC and am sending them a note to thank them for their wonderful coverage and in-depth look at the life and good works for our Senator.

1. Same here -
I glanced at CNN for a few minutes last night when the news first broke. MSNBC didn't yet have it, but CNN did. They were less than interesting, so I switched.

And it's been nothing but MSNBC since.

They're doing a fine job................

2. I just tuned to MSNBC and The Ed Show. He is great. I wouldn't go near Fox but

apparently they are hardly carrying it at all according to some posts here at DU. Maybe it's just as well. If they can't bring themselves to say something nice, they might as well say nothing at all.

5. I made the same decision to grieve with fellow Democrats
On DU as well. No radio today and only some late evening Television but I only want Democratic thoughts or reflections surrounding the passing of Senator Kennedy.

I am still on a raw nerve with my own countrymen that seek to withhold healthcare for all.

6. I should have included Ed earlier in my lineup of shows that would be worth watching on MSNBC
tonight. Sorry Ed!

And don't miss Keith...he will be eloquent from beginning to end.

7. Wanted to post this... a friend sent it to me
It's been said the measure of a man is not how many times he falls down, but how many times he gets back up. In that alone, Senator Kennedy is unmatched.

Unlike most of us, he had to endure his personal travails very publicly. Yet despite his ordeals, this very rich man always sheltered the poor, the unfortunate, and the ignored in his very big heart, and kept them as the focus of his very sharp mind. May the rest of us draw inspiration from him, and do all we can to help our countrymen in need.

God rest this extraordinary soul.
