Glenn Beck Inspired Protesters Target Bill Nelson
Senator Bill Nelson's anti-offshore drilling news conference today in Tampa attracted a protest by memers of a group called the South Pinellas Patriots, according to The Buzz.

Who are they? Well, their website says they "are inspired by Glenn Beck," the shouting, sad clown who is allowed to rant on a daily basis on Fox News Channel. They're connected with the 9-12 Project, a Beck founded iniative that "is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001."

Now, I don't know about you, but I am glad 9/12 is over. Sure it was a rare day where all Americans (well, except maybe for Muslim Americans who were worried their overly-"patriotic" neighbors might turn violent) truly felt united, but it was also a day of sadness, anger, and fear if memory serves correct. One thing I don't really remember is a mass outpouring of sentiment for offshore drilling.

The protesters chanted "Drill here, drill now!" and also wanted to talk about cap-and-trade and that evil government run health care plan. Again, not really things I remember were on many, if any, Americans' minds on September 12th. Of course, I might just be forgetful, or it's possible these patriots are misusing a great American tragedy to forward their own, unrelated political agenda.

1. I'd like to take Glenn Beck back to where he was on 9/12: AN OFF THE AIR NOBODY.
Boycott is working - 36 companies and climbing have dumped his ass. We need to boycott FoxNews to hammer the point home so that company #37 is run by Rupert Murdoch.

4. Wasn't 9/12 the day that the world was still in sympathy for the U.S.?
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 06:47 PM by zbdent
and wasn't 9/13 the day that Bush declared war on nations which had nothing to do with the attacks?

edited to add:

And didn't Bush43 declare that 9/11 should not be used for political gain?
