The line to eat used to be long and you had to wait...then the church started requiring ID..now the place is deserted and they offer seconds so they don't waste food.

Have you ever heard of anything so stupid?

1. Why would a church care about an ID?
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 06:04 PM by JuniperLea
I hardly think someone who didn't need the food would go to a soup kitchen. Did Jesus ask for ID before passing out fishes and loaves?

Are they worried about illegal aliens? Jesus wouldn't. He only saw their hunger.

2. I don't go EVERY week, being single, childless and working part time
But requiring ID doesn't seem to scare them away from the church pantry that I attend.

The previous two times I went, there would be a huge line when I arrived at the 10AM opening time. The last time I went, the line was lot shorter. Just as I was thinking that maybe the economy WAS starting to recover, I overheard a worker say, "It's been getting so crowded, we have to open at nine!"
