Ed just played a couple of clips of Boortz calling the victims of Katrina

human debris and essentially saying that NO was cleansed by Katrina. Why is this racist bastard still on the radio?

True dat, I've been in the broadcasting biz for the last 10 years now and I can tell you, that's the name of the game. Ratings = advertiser dollars and that's all they care about in this business. If you can get the advertisers to pull out and take their money with them, then you might shut him down. Otherwise, he's here to stay.

11. we live in a swale and hardly get any radio signal, and the car radio doesn't work

so here at home we listen to radio online. so i guess i miss a few things

12. not getting this idiot is a good thing - he is a disgusting individual

be berates callers, goes after Dems with a vengeance, a true pig. Lies constantly. His latest is that the government is next going after everyone's 401Ks and will redistribute all the money. He also is working against health insurance reform by stating that it will be against the law to seek out care if turned down by the government-run insurer. He constantly rails against "government" schools even though he is 100% educated by government schools.

He once discusses his contract terms - apparently there is some clause that he must draw a certain number of negative emails in response to his show. He obviously tries to maximize that number.

13. Oddly enough, I disagree it was about racism.

I highly doubt he was even thinking in terms of black and white. Boortz consistently pushes the idea that the poor are human refuse dragging the rest of the world down. I've heard him speak similarly of poor whites too.

14. Even apartment dwellers

face his put-downs, believe it or not. I've heard him make fun of people who were burned out in an apartment fire by saying, "these people haven't lost their HOMES, they lived in an apartment for god's sake." He then will go on and rant about apartment dwellers having rented furniture and a velvet Elvis hanging on the wall. He hasn't just done this once or twice but frequently. I know because I happen to live in an apartment, and I have tons of original art work and some antique furniture, and I always want to reach in through the radio and strangle him. What a fuckin' jerk.
