Anyone else following the Kennedys on Twitter?

I wish I could be there. I can't believe they're taking the time to share with all of us. What a special family.

and you know something else, this has not happened for any other political figure in recent memory... perhaps Coretta Scott King... but you know what I mean. There is more. The RWers will hate this. Not even Reagan got this people's send off. So I expect them to really get bad.

People are STILL coming in!

It was only supposed to be until 11:00 pm, but apparently, anyone who was standing on line at 11:00 pm is being allowed to pay their respects. Very nice. :-) They still have four people (friends/family/staff, etc.) sitting vigil. What a long night for them. (Note: They have four different people every hour or so.)


Edited: Just noticed ... the web site says it will be open until 2:00 am. I hope every who stood in line will get in.

i noticed twitter said there were 20,000 people still in line two hours ago, and the viewing was supposed to end an hour ago--so i'm wondering if all those people are going to have to wait through the night, or will they keep the viewing area open?

Ted knew the people of Massachusetts needed to say goodbye to him somehow, be it standing at attention as his funeral cortege circled around Boston or seeing him lie in repose at his brother's library. How typical of him. Not the Capitol, not the Massachusetts State House, etc. but his brother's library, where both RFK and JFK are honored.

And his family, rolling down the car windows on a warm day to thank people lining the streets. Being dutiful Kennedys, always. Even in their momentous grief, serving the people who need to bid farewell to the Lion of the Senate, the last of Rose Kennedy's incredible sons, the one who was spared to serve the nation longest.

Thank you, Kennedy family mourners, for making your own ordeal harder to allow folks to show love, gratitude and respect for your husband, father and uncle/father.
