Other witnesses also helped establish the timeline for the terrifying final hours of Lee's life.

Lee's former neighbor, Jennifer Eckert, 24, testified that she saw the green Camaro circle the block three or four times between 1 and 2 p.m. and pull into the Lees' driveway. She said she was certain of the time, because she was watching her favorite TV soap.

King's cousin, Harold Muxlow, testified that King stopped by his house between 5:30 and 6 p.m., and asked to borrow a flashlight, a gas can, and a shovel.

He testified that a "girl's voice" from the car asked him to "call the cops" but Muxlow said King told him, "Don't worry. It's nothing."

1. Very badly handled by emergency personnel and police.

VERY badly. I have to wonder too, why the cousin and soap-opera watching neighbor didn't call 911 too.

Hell, if I see ANYTHING suspicious I call 911 - even if I look a fool for doing it (and i don't give a DAMN who it is) because you NEVER KNOW and someone's life could depend on it.

EDIT: of course it does NO good to call them if they "forget" to report it to police. Pfft.

2. I see someone get a shovel and someone's asking for help from their car? CALL THE COPS
AT least look into it further...walk up to the car, open the door. Sheesh. There were so many opportunities to save this woman's life.

3. Horrible, isn't it?
I'm glad he was at least convicted.

As for those who could have saved her and didn't, I hope they have to live with that knowledge and it haunts them for the rest of their lives.

4. Mr. Muxlow ought to be arrested too...
...let's see now: your cousin comes in to borrow a flashlight, a gas can and a friggin' shovel, there's a young woman in his car screaming "Call the cops!" -- and this low-life POS scum thinks yeah, sure, I'll just listen to mah cuz here and pay no attention to the screaming woman...

I'm not sure what charges could be brought. I'd like to at least have a whack at his knees with a baseball bat.
