ATT: Trolling Freepers
Edited on Fri Aug-28-09 11:03 PM by LuckyTheDog
I have been reading your boards. And I have to ask. What is WRONG with you folks?

Do you really, really want to threaten to stage a violent insurrection -- just to keep your fellow citizens from having affordable health insurance? Really? WTF is up with that?

Mods... if a troll answers here, could you let the comment stay for a while, so that I can read what the Freepers have to say?

they love the U.S. and how much they love Americans, but the truth is, they hate them.

I will "figure it out" after single payer. I will "figure it out" after I shove the constitution so far up their ass that the Preamble comes out of their nostrils. I will "figure it out" after we reverse the harm that's been done to us, and our country.

lose about 50 pounds of McDonald's fat first...and we know that ain't going to happen.

They'll drop from a massive coronary before they can march their fat asses into Washington.

9. Went to a healthcare rally in Phoenix this week.
"Anti-health care" protesters across the street. All paunchy white racists. One guy had a storm-trooper type outfit on and carried a huge confederate flag - while they were all chanting "USA" "USA" "USA". And then reciting the pledge of allegiance in unison. And then shouting "get a job", "beggars", "No Obamacare", etc. Nasty MFs. I mean really, WTF is wrong with these people??? There's a black hole in their bodies where there's supposed to be a heart.

The real clinker was the Renault Alliance, sold by AMC. They all had decals proclaiming them "Motor Trend Car of the Year" and could generally be found burning beside the highway.

13. Universal healtchcare further erodes "white privilege"...
Edited on Sat Aug-29-09 12:17 AM by targetpractice
Tea parties, town halls, and whatnot are a reaction from some white people re: the prospect that minorities may participate equally in society due to government assistance... Our black president, affirmative action, immigration, etc. validate this fear in their minds.

I perceive the strongest opposition is coming from a bunch of mediocre (and older) citizens who have suddenly realized that they won't be getting extra credit points based on their skin color... So, they are fighting to make sure that they and their fellow "patriots" are doing everything they can to prevent "the government" from providing assistance to minorities. Why? Because that means more competition for them and their families.

This concept became crystal clear for me when I watched one of Sen. Grasseley's recent Town Hall meetings... A guy complained that he was worried that his 9-year old kid wouldn't get into medical school because "nobody is helping white people" these days. The father was stupid as a brick, but I could hear an honest and sincere fear in his trembling voice... He had no other strategy to get his son into medical school other than to try to make sure minorities were not a competitive threat. He felt out of control... afraid... marginalized.

I've talked to many white conservatives... And, I believe that they really abhor the fact that their money (via tax dollars) might somehow go to aid minorities without their say-so.... They'd prefer to donate their money personally through churches and charity so that they can control the outcome... ensure that their charity doesn't come back to bite them in the ass.

In summary... The insurance companies are protecting their profits by exploiting an irrational fear of a small but angry population of white conservatives that universal healthcare will enable minorities to compete with them and their offspring. They are deeply insecure and want to abolish the level playing field... That's what they mean when they say, "We want our America back!"

14. You know, this fight has been going on for 100 years
We basically have two groups of people. Those that think we are "our brother's keeper" and those that think everyone should just be left to make it on their own. I don't see either side surrendering to the other any time soon. For any time in history, one side has control of the government but for th emost part, half the country feels they are disenfranchied. So why not give both sides their just due?

Why not split into two countries or at least do some kind of sub-split. We can still be the USA but simply parsed along a basic different - kind of like a state boundary. States should identify themselves as socially centered or individually centered. The socially centered states would have publicly funded healthcare, housing, no poverty, regulated economy, etc. The individually centered states will not have any of those things and everyone will be left on their own. In those states, all schools will be private and the roads will be privately owned. No social security or medicare. Everyone is for themself.

Then let the games begin. Over years, people will migrate to the states that reflect their world view. Eventually, people will live in the world they want. All will feel happy and all adversary will be gone.

15. There is a lot of evidence that "conservatism" is not a choice...
Conservatives and liberals may be born that way... Or more likely, that conservative or liberal personality traits are set at a very young age due to birth order or other family dynamics.

Google "birth order" and "born to rebel" and "Frank Sulloway" to learn more about such research.

Your proposal would tear families and communities apart... It's extremely rare to find a family of all conservatives or liberals.

Our society is almost a 50/50 mix of ideologies, but is currently extremely polarized because the politicians and media have learned to label and exploit all aspects natural phenomenon of human nature.

35. I don't think I could agree with the "locked in" principle
>>Conservatives and liberals may be born that way... Or more likely, that conservative or liberal >>personality traits are set at a very young age due to birth order or other family dynamics.

I know plenty of people who have politically evolved. My Dad said Arriana Huffington was a conservative in the 90's as was Bill Marr.

If people were locked into their politically persuasion then there woud be no reason to argue. "I am who I am and believe what I believe because of genetic programming." That wouold be the only validity a politcal argumetn could have.

But your mileage may differ

18. You know the "individuals" would drop their Ayn Rand books and come crying to the other states
as soon as anything remotely difficult happened to them, waking them up to the reality of life. The problem would be that the socially-centered states would be flooded by refugees from the "individual" states, which would probably look like something from Escape from New York.

They are largely incompetent across the board.

If this divide occurred, it would not be unreasonable to look at our southern neighbors as the most dangerous enemy on the face of the planet. As mentioned above there would be refugees trying to get in; we would have to have secure borders to start with. I'm sure we would have a generous immigration policy but there IS only so much a society can take.

33. BULLSHIT
Our tax money is NOT being used to keep our brothers. It is being used to KILL our brothers. Or to support people that don't deserve it and are only getting richer off of our tax dollars. We pay this money in, why can't we have some of it for our own healthcare? Why should we use it, FIRST, for buying fucking tanks and aircraft and bombs? Why shouldn't it be used to benefit the American people in a real way, instead of funding the military industrial complex? It's OUR fucking money. It's not about being our brothers keeper. It's about taking care of our own people with our own money.

Hit and run. The exception might have been Sen Ted Kennedy's death. At least one couldnt keep her cool and went off on the Senator.

But I have asked some blue dogs here repeatedly why they oppose the public option and they wont respond.

There is destruction and construction. We are a part of the latter, our dreams can manifest stronger and a more resilient future than these petty tyrants.

Hate eventually self destructs, it implodes. Hate is lethal to the body, to the heart and tissues, these people are not healthy.

People, stay strong and clear, and keep hate out of your heart, outlive these bastards.
