in Massachusetts? Supposedly people will be fined for not getting their shots. Sounds like rightwingery garbage to me.

1. I did some internet research on this yesterday
Mass. Senate passed a bill allowing a public health commissioner declare an emergency and require people to get vaccinated; if not they face quarantine or fine.

I never found anything on what happened in the Mass. house.

3. I doubt it will pass
and if it does, the courts will strike it down.

Mass. still has laws requiring the confinement of noncompliant TB patients under public health laws, one reason the state has little drug resistant TB. They are hospitalized on a locked ward and given pills.

However, there are no requirements for adults to undergo any invasive treatment, period, and injections are invasive.

The ridiculous number attached to the fine is pure wingnut hyperbole.

2. I wouldn't trust that source re:vacinations

It is a rabid anti-science anti-vaxx site with a vested interested in selling natural cures. Many places have mandatory vaccinations for school with religious/medical opt outs. Btw.. In case of pandemic emergency most places have very strict measures in place because even a handful of people refusing vaccination can be fatal to many people. Read about Typhoid Mary to see how one health idiot can kill/sicken lots of people

4. Looks like I'd be paying a fine, in that case.

5. The fine applies only if you are told to stay in quarantine AND
you fail to do so.

In other words, you may be asked to get vaccinated to avoid infecting others. If you refuse vaccination and it's determined you are likely to spread the flu, then you may be ordered into quarantine.

6. Only if you break quarantine
If you're quarantined and decide not to stick around you'd face the fine.

7. And in that case the fine would be thoroughly deserved (nt)
