I know you meant it as a joke, but using the homosexual slam as a joke is actually hurtful to homosexuals -- it purpetuates the idea that they are abnormal and well, just lesser humans. I know I'm not putting that very well, but I hope you understand what I mean.

In full disclosure, I used to do the same thing all the time. I got a big eye opener lesson on how painful it can be to people I actually do care about, and now whenever I see or hear that kind of thing I try to gently mention it to other people.

Sorry, I just couldn't let it go.... call it pennance for my own previous insensitivity.
