bu$h* Daughter Jenna Hager Becomes 'Today' Reporter
NEW YORK -- NBC's "Today" show has hired someone with White House experience as a new correspondent - former first daughter Jenna Hager.

The daughter of former President George W. Bush will contribute stories about once a month on issues like education to television's top-rated morning news show, said Jim Bell, its executive producer.

Hager, a 27-year-old teacher in Baltimore, said she has always wanted to be a teacher and a writer, and has already authored two books. But she was intrigued by the idea of getting into television when Bell contacted her.

"It wasn't something I'd always dreamed to do," she said. "But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change."

She'll essentially work two part-time jobs as a correspondent and in her school, where she will be a reading coordinator this year.

1. GE loves those republicans
Talent is not a requirement when you are that close to the republican party.

3. Ya never know...
As far as I'm aware, she's never made her own political views publicly known (correct me if I'm wrong.) She might turn out to be fair-minded. Anyway, she didn't choose to be W's daughter, that's just horrible luck ;)

4. But why was she chosen?
Her daddy is not very popular so it is unlikely she will attract new viewers and will probably turn some people away.
It looks to me like GE wants to give a platform to anyone who has a chance of reinvigorating the GOP.

6. Three words for those that think she can't be open minded: Ronald Reagan Junior

Don't judge a child by his or her parents.

God knows, I wouldn't want to be judged by my dad's politics.

8. Yes, but can I judge her by whom she marries?

SNIP
He's Henry Hager, a 26-year-old Richmonder with a Virginia political pedigree. Richmond's Style Weekly reported yesterday that his father is John H. Hager, Virginia's first director of homeland security and a former lieutenant governor. John Hager recently joined the Bush administration as an assistant secretary of education.

We hear the young Hager got his start two years ago as an intern in the White House for Karl Rove and later moved to the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign. "He's a nice guy, a smart guy, an ambitious guy," a Bush adviser told us. "Well liked, popular."

9. Not really.... I married a Republican. Hell... look at James Carville

It's dangerous business to judge someone by the political views of their spouses and family members.

Arnold Swarzenegger married a Kennedy, for chrissakes.

13. No, she isn't.
I believe she has an English degree from University of Texas-- no teaching certification.

She "taught" at a charter school in D.C. for a year and a half. It was: Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School (according to wiki).

Charter schools... rah, rah, rah!
